I thought I'd do a reading that included all the different elements that I was interested in for this time period, but the political one just kept coming so I thought I'd either stick with just the politics for now or do them in parts (meaning I'll add in some of the other elements in separate posts later).
Here is the reading on US Politics for the end of March through April of 2011:
It was a bit better when I was reading it in my mind. The words were much more natural and they explained things much better. A lot of that was lost when I ended the reading and then started typing them at my computer, but I captured the general idea. I think I will either record myself speaking (which I've never done before) or try typing as I read next time.ReadingUS politics will be showered with some blessings. Politicians will begin to have this appreciation and awe of the beauty and nature of politics. Things will be more pleasant between parties; the age of heavy politics is starting to come to an end. Things will be lighter and there will be more harmony. There will be this rush of gentleness, peace and calm. It will feel refreshing. Things will feel like they are going right. Politicians will start to enjoy their jobs again.
Whereas before, both parties had these weights pinning them down to their views - whether it was pride, the pressure of wanting to be re-elected, or anything else, there will be less of that. There will still be something that holds both parties back and keeps them to their views and values, but the weight will be much less. Parties will start to look at their opposing party's views and there will be much more room for compromise. There will be members from both sides who will actually start thinking about what is right and what makes sense as opposed to what their party stands for and these individuals will vote on their opposing parties' bills because they no longer feel bound to stick with their parties. One party will do this more than the other, but this is an improvement and an achievement on both sides nonetheless.
Things are starting to cool down and the world of politics is completely skipping over the rest of the chapter they have been in and moving to a brand new chapter. One with a blank page where things can be different than they were. Whereas before, red and blue stuck to their guns and worked on things separately and then pushed the opposing party to accept their changes, now the parties will be working together to draft things moving forward. Yes, it will be a medley of what blue wants and what red wants and there won't be much that is written and created and voted on that both parties completely agree on. It will be compromise, not harmonic agreement, per se. But things will no longer be considered a republican bill or a democrat bill. The lines between who's bill is who's will be blurred and there will be no right answer.
There will also be this softening in the hearts of the politicians. The Japanese tsunami has somehow arisen this sense of vulnerability along with a sense of nationalism and patriotism. Politicians on both sides are starting to see each other as a family and are starting to work like one. We are not individuals fighting for what we each want. We are a unit working together so that everyone can have a piece of pie. This natural disaster is bringing a sense of understanding and sensitivity and politicians on both sides are wanting to build a "shelter" for themselves where anyone from any party is invited. They want to be a unit of strength.
But anyways, here is my reading. So we'll see!
